76-year old male patient with a diabetic foot.
PREVIOUS TREATMENT
Treatment with a standard plaster during 3 weeks prior to the treatment with 1 Primary Wound Dressing
TREATMENT WITH 1 PRIMARY WOUND DRESSING
Wound cleansing with saline solution and application of 1 Primary Wound Dressing. Initially, coverage with a paraffined gauze, then with a non-woven gauze. A foot spa wash with water jets was performed prior to applying 1 Primary Wound Dressing for the first time. The patient refused to wear a pressure relief shoe.
RESULT
Wound closure within 90 days.
CONCLUSION HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL
Dr. F. Castrignano, MD, Italy
“The use of 1 Primary Wound Dressing in combination with a regular sharp debridement led to a fast improvement of the wound bed and periwound skin. The oil film prevented a remaceration
of the wound edge. 1 Primary Wound Dressing enabled a very simple dressing change
that could be performed by the home care organisation in less than 10 minutes. The relatively long healing time shows how important systematic pressure relief is. Given the fact that the patient was on his feet a lot, the result is very impressive.”
